We are a fair and inclusive school that employs, represents and champions opportunities for existing and potential colleagues drawn from a diverse cross section of society.  We welcome applications from candidates who represent our diverse student community

Winchmore is a heavily oversubscribed, thriving, multicultural 11-18 comprehensive school with a commitment to achievement for all. The school had a very positive Ofsted describing Winchmore as a good school with care, guidance and support and community cohesion being graded as outstanding.

The school’s most recent Ofsted Inspection was graded as “good” and inspectors made the following statements within the report:

“The school is a harmonious environment where pupils report feeling happy and safe”

“The school’s pastoral team works well with support staff to ensure that pupils’ attendance is high, punctuality to school and lessons is good, and that behaviour more consistently meets  expectations”.

“The sixth form is popular and growing. The number on roll has increased significantly over the past few years and students on work-related courses do particularly well.”

At Winchmore our priority is learning. We promote high achievement, high standards and have the highest expectations for all students. We encourage our students to strive continuously to exceed their personal best, to take risks in their learning and to realise their full potential. Our teachers provide a range of teaching and learning strategies and a variety of activities and tasks to meet the needs of all students. Our students are encouraged and supported to become independent learners and take responsibility for their own learning. Our 6th Form is extremely popular with approximately 500 students on roll

The school is situated in an extremely pleasant green 10 acre site.   Recent investment has enabled the school to upgrade its entire network IT  infrastructure. In 2022, an impressive £5.5million Capital Project commenced providing a new, state of the art 6th Form Centre - this is due to be completed by the end of 2023. We continually maintain and upgrade our facilities.  This has increased space and provided fantastic facilities in science, art, drama, dance, and technology.  We also have a dedicated area for learning and behaviour support.  The extensive remodelling of our buildings has ensured optimum facilities for all subjects including English, Maths, Modern Foreign Languages and Humanities.

Winchmore is a very successful and improving school where innovation and creativity are greatly valued. We are constantly reviewing and evaluating our practice and provision in order to improve.

The staff at Winchmore share a can-do attitude and a belief that every child matters.   This   appointment will play a role in ensuring that every single member of staff makes a real difference to the lives of our students.

Winchmore School is proud of its reputation as an international school.  This was recognised in the British Council's re-accreditation of the International School Award 2018-2021

As a result of our strong track record of working to support parents and carers, together with a wide variety of new initiatives, we have been successful in achieving the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) for many years.

All schools in Enfield are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and anyone applying to work in our school is expected to share this commitment.
