We are looking to appoint a dedicated and suitably qualified teacher of Design Technology to join our successful Technology team at Hummersknott Academy. Students are taught DT subjects as part of a carousel at KS3 with students having the choice to opt for the individual subjects at KS4. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, specialist DT teacher to join a thriving faculty within an ambitious school dedicated to giving the best for its children.

The faculty offers a wide range of subjects to exam level and prides itself on its performance as well as the breadth of its curriculum at both Key stages. Teachers within the faculty are dedicated, pro-active and collaborate as a team. Design and Technology is a leading faculty within the school where ideas are put into reality, students are designers and problems are turned into solutions.

Applications are welcome from those who can teach to both key stages and to all ability levels. Above all, we are looking for someone with a real passion for the subject; someone who is able to inspire students to share that passion.

We are a popular Academy, consistently oversubscribed and with high quality outcomes at KS4. We pride ourselves on a culture built upon strong relationships, mutual respect and a commitment to developing students and staff alike. Our curriculum has always been based upon quality, breadth and choice.

Whether you are just setting out in your career or are an experienced practitioner looking for a new challenge, this post will place you at the heart of a vibrant and forward thinking Faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across the age and ability range.

A full induction and CPD support programme will be available to the successful candidate.

Interested? We look forward to hearing from you!
