Job overview
UTC Leeds is looking to appoint a Teacher of Engineering to join our committed and dynamic team. The successful candidate will have an outstanding teaching ability, the skills to motivate and engage students, and a relentless ambition to enrich the lives and learning experiences of our young people.
UTCs take students as young as 14 and offer a combination of technical qualifications alongside GCSEs and A-Levels. This combination of academic and technical learning is unique, equipping students for professional careers through places at top universities, as well as through higher and advanced apprenticeships. Opening in September 2016, UTC Leeds offers high-tech, cutting-edge facilities and a first-class educational experience. The UTC is the first school in the Leeds City region to provide high-quality academic and technical training, focusing specifically on the engineering and advanced technology sectors.
We are proud to be a part of The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust which has a reputation for high expectations for all, an innovative curriculum and excellent staff/student relationships. It is regarded as one of the most successful Trusts in the country and is recognised as an organisation that does things differently. Our academies are a place where staff can develop their skills and find their own style and methods of teaching. Colleagues learn and grow alongside our students and feel that they are making a real difference to the lives of those they teach. We believe that traditional values of discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness, and this has made for a harmonious and safe learning environment for our young people and a supportive environment for staff.
The successful candidate will enjoy access to high quality CPD. You will also be joining a happy Trust where 95% of colleagues agreed that they enjoy working here and 92% would recommend us to a friend or colleague (taken from 2022 staff wellbeing survey). Our commitment to the staff wellbeing means we prioritise staff mental health, drive down unnecessary workload and support our colleagues to progress in their careers.
This role provides a real opportunity for you to make your mark, and as a growing Trust with an excellent reputation and access to high-quality CPD for all, there are always opportunities for career development.
