We embed the ethos of the Trust: “To live life to the full in pursuit of that which is good, right and true” and are passionate about social equality within our community. “Pupils understand expectations and appreciate the positive environment. Following internal promotion, we are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Teacher of English to compliment the established department in the Academy.

We are seeking a self-motivated, supportive, and inspiring teacher who has experience in curriculum planning and delivery of music across Key Stages 3 – 4 (Key Stage 5 is desirable but not necessary). You are an outstanding teacher who is passionate about your subject and able to inspire and motivate students to learn. Your passion for English is demonstrated in your daily work and you are willing to contribute to wider curriculum opportunity for students to further engage and support them in the subject.

The successful candidate will be joining a well-established and cohesive team of colleagues, with good links across other schools as part of the Mercian Academy Trust, with excellent opportunities for development.

We are looking to appoint either a Full Time or Part Time position for this role.

The Academy is looking for someone who has:

  • Excellent subject knowledge in English;
  • A track record of inspiring students in English, enabling them to achieve outstanding results;
  • Inspiring and creative ideas to make English accessible to a range of abilities;
  • The ability to understand and work with assessment data to monitor and intervene as appropriate with students.
  • A background in Level 3 English would be an advantage but not necessary.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching English across Key Stages 3-5;
  • Responsibility for adding value to every learner in each teaching group benchmarked against national criteria and data;
  • Delivering, planning, and preparing lessons in accordance with the planned curriculum;
  • Contribution to curriculum design within English;
  • Working as part of an exceptional team that ensures creative and innovative learning and teaching occurs in every lesson;
  • Being a Form Tutor.

Q3 Academy Tipton offers excellent CPD and career opportunities for staff at every stage of their career.
