We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, qualified, and engaging role model who will play a significant role in the development of our young people, department and wider school community.  

The successful candidate will have outstanding subject knowledge and be a true advocate for Physical Education. Physical Education, physical activity and school sport is at the heart of St Bonaventure’s and we would welcome applications for this exciting opportunity from practitioners who can demonstrate dedication to the subject. 

Ideally the candidate would be a Basketball Specialist who would have the vision and expertise to enhance our national successes and reputation.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a vision and passion for PE, physical activity and school sport which they can articulate.
  • Be a highly competent qualified teacher.
  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge.
  • Be a reflective practitioner with a focus on continuous learning and development of practice.
  • Contribute and show dedicated commitment to extra-curricular activities, including Basketball and Football
  • Have the desire to be an advocate of Physical Education. 
  • Play an active role in the wider school community.


We expect that you will have evidence of excellent lesson practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and, if overseas trained, we would need evidence that your professional qualifications are recognised in the UK by UK ENIC &/or the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).
