Teacher of Science

THE ROLE

Barclay Academy seeks to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Science who is confident in their subject area, with the vision and drive to motivate and enthuse students. The Science Department is a collaborative and experienced team, who are passionate about embedding an academically rigorous curriculum and assessment model across key stages. Applicants are expected to be confident at delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4 with the opportunity to deliver A-level.

Applications are welcomed from ECTs, and also from those offering more experience. Ofsted highlighted the comprehensive ongoing training and support that are provided for staff, who also appreciate the thoughtful and meaningful consideration given to their workload. Those in the early stages of their careers are particularly well supported.

Barclay Academy was recently graded Good overall by Ofsted, with Outstanding for Leadership and Management, as well as Personal Development. We are continually developing an academic culture at Barclay Academy where the highest standards are expected of students and staff.

We are part of Future Academies, a Multi-Academy Trust which includes three primary schools and seven secondary schools in and around London and Hertfordshire. We are motivated by a mission of social change and reducing educational inequality. Our children and young people study a bespoke curriculum developed by researchers at our Curriculum Centre, which places a focus on developing their cultural literacy and their awareness of the forces, words and events that have shaped our society today.
