Biddick Academy is part of the North East Learning Trust and is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Science to join our team on a temporary basis.

The successful candidate will:

·       Hold QTS qualification, with a degree or equivalent in a relevant subject

·       Have experience of teaching the relevant subject area at both KS3 and KS4

·       Have excellent IT skills.

·       Be proactive and self-motivated.

·       Have a flexible approach to work.

·       Be uncompromising in their high expectations of students;

·       Have a genuine desire for students to succeed;

·       Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

·       Have the ability to engage and inspire pupils;

·       Be able to demonstrate high quality teaching;

·       Have an evident passion for science.

Biddick Academy is a co-educational secondary school based in Washington, near Sunderland, for students aged 11-16. 

In 1997, Biddick was one of the first 11 schools in England to become a specialist sports college. The academy’s facilities include a sports hall, a dance studio, a fitness suite, a gymnasium, a full-size 3G pitch, floodlit tennis courts, a theatre and ICT suites.
