Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Science who has the highest expectations of themselves and our pupils.

We wish to recruit someone who shares our vision that all pupils should leave school with the skills to be able to appreciate Science and relate it to the world they live in. As a Teacher of Science, you will be expected to ensure, through effective teaching and learning, that all pupils are equipped to use and apply investigatory, analytical, interpreting and communicative skills.

To be successful, you will:

  • Be passionate about Science and about helping all pupils to succeed, despite their background
  • Have high professional standards
  • Be committed to raising the achievement of all learners by ensuring teaching across the curriculum is of the highest quality
  • Be able to make positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents alike
  • Be able to plan and deliver innovative and inspirational lessons that engage pupils

Please note that based on previous experience and suitability, this role may come with additional responsibilities. We welcome both applicants who may and may not want the TLR to apply.

About us

Opened in September 2013 by the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build, we are based on Reeves Way in Peterborough and have quickly gone from strength to strength.

A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we have been described as a truly ‘inclusive school’ at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have also been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'. We were also runners-up at the 2020 National SEN awards for National Most Inclusive Practice.
