5 days a week – term time only

Actual Starting Salary for 5 days a week: £17,014

A vacancy has arisen for a TA within our lovely school, which will be for 5 days a week, fixed term for two terms, and could include some 1:1 responsibilities. Northlands Wood became an Academy a few years ago, and this is an exciting time to join our inclusive and child-centred school. We pride ourselves on our whole-child ethos, promoting Learning Skills, Emotional Literacy, Attitudes and Feelings. Our TAs support the learning of all children, including those with SEN. If you believe that all children’s needs should be supported within a mainstream setting and you have the skills to support children’s learning and their wider wellbeing we would love to hear from you.

Like all schools, we need to work creatively to be able to offer the support children need as school budgets are squeezed. We believe we can do this through a whole school passion for inclusion and a collaborative, solution-focussed approach. If you can contribute to this work we can reward you with a real sense of success as well as a sense of team work and belonging.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working with children from 4-11 and have the necessary subject knowledge to support children with reading, writing and maths up to the level required from Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2. Usually this will be a minimum of a GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English. They should have experience working with children in a school setting. A relevant qualification is desirable.

The successful candidate should be willing to undertake any necessary training to enable them to carry out their role effectively and a First Aid/Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable.
