Type: Full Time or Part Time

Working hours: Monday-Friday 08:30-16:00 with occasional after school meetings or activities as required. Term Time Only

Willow Park School is a unique, specialist independent primary school dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). Job Summary:

A Teaching Assistant at Willow Park should be passionate and dedicated. They are committed to supporting the creation of a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, fostering the academic and personal growth of our students. They assist the teacher and other staff in delivering high-quality teaching, developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and managing classroom behaviour effectively.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supporting Teaching and Learning:
  • Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils, accommodating different learning styles and abilities for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Support the creation of a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and a love for learning.
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with ASD and SLCN.
  • Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Observe pupil performance and pass observations on to the class teacher
  • Supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable
  • Use ICT skills to advance pupils’ learning
