Job overview

Are you a caring, enthusiastic person who is looking for an opportunity to bring your experience to an enthusiastic and nurturing staff team at Delce Academy? If so, you could be just the person we need to join our dedicated Midday Meals Supervising team.

You will be required to help set up the dining hall and playgrounds with their equipment. You will supervise pupils during the meal time period, minimising disruption, ensuring their well-being and maintaining their safety within school guidelines and policies. An understanding of the importance of the need for safeguarding the health and well-being of all pupils within the school and upholding the school's policies and procedures, in regards to child protection and safeguarding, is an essential requirement for the role.

Whilst experience is not a necessity, a genuine care in children is - you need to like children, to want the very best for them and be prepared to put their needs first. Children will be at the heart of your work; you must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child within a creative and innovative school setting.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be kind
  • Have a professional approach and attitude at all times
  • Be able to use initiative to deal with any issues that arise and adapt to situations accordingly
  • Have a keen interest in learning and a willingness to engage in training
  • A high level of motivation, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Good interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with children and colleagues
  • An awareness of how to ensure the safeguarding of all our children
  • Hold a current first aid certificate or the willingness to train
  • Demonstrate a positive and inclusive attitude towards all pupils and staff
  • A capacity to show initiative when encouraging children to engage in play activities
  • A positive rapport with colleagues and children

They will have the opportunity to:

Become part of a team that will play an integral role in upholding our community wide belief that ‘At Delce We Do Belong’.
