We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Wrap Around Care Worker to join our team and contribute to the well-being and development of our pupils. This role involves providing high-quality care and engaging play-based activities during the Breakfast Club, Lunch Club, and After School Club. The successful candidate will help create a stimulating environment that supports children's social, educational, physical, and recreational needs while ensuring their safety and well-being.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain pupil discipline in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Supervise and engage with children in designated play areas, ensuring safety and promoting positive play.
  • Plan and deliver a range of activities that foster children’s life skills, socialisation, and overall development.
  • Assist with lunchtime supervision and the provision of food and snacks.
  • Support children with disabilities, special educational needs, and those facing behavioural challenges.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and manage health and safety, including cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
  • Handle administrative duties, including maintaining registers, recording incidents, and liaising with parents and the community.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Coaching or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 (Childcare or Play) or equivalent.
  • Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to train).
  • Current Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to train).


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree or Foundation Degree in a sport-related subject.


Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with children and young people, including those with disabilities or challenging behaviour.
  • Experience in dealing with parents and handling cash.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current sporting issues and ability to develop appropriate activities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of multicultural environments and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Commitment to high-quality service delivery and equality of opportunity.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of the role.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a good team player.


Additional Information:

  • Willingness to undertake further training as required.
  • Ability to speak a second language is desirable.

Train with us - we are delighted to partner with Teach First to deliver our School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme.  Teach First is a national charity that develops and supports teachers and leaders who are determined to make a difference where it is needed the most.
