Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lower Primary Homeroom Teacher to join our team. This individual will serve as a homeroom teacher while also teaching Global Perspective, English, Science, and Mathematics to students in Grades 1, 2, or 3. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in their subject areas, possess strong organizational skills, and exhibit proficiency in utilizing educational technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences. Additionally, they will be responsible for meeting deadlines, preparing regular lesson plans, and communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.


Responsibilities:


1. Homeroom Leadership:

  • Establish and maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative and nurturing community.


2. Subject Instruction:

  • Design and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons in Global Perspective, English, Science, and Mathematics.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.


3. Educational Technology Integration:

  • Incorporate educational technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences in all subject areas.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in developing digital literacy skills and responsible technology use.


4. Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine curriculum materials and resources aligned with academic standards and best practices.
  • Design and implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of individual students and promote academic growth.


5. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

  • Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding in each subject area.
  • Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and provide targeted support for students as needed.
  • Establish and effectively maintain a comprehensive student portfolio 


6. Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to provide updates on student progress, upcoming events, and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate interdisciplinary activities and projects.


7. Deadline Management:

  • Meet deadlines for submitting grades, reports, and other administrative tasks on time.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, and assessments.


8. Professional Development:

  •  Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, and proficiency in educational technology.
  •  Stay informed about current trends and best practices in elementary education.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license for elementary education.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in an international school setting, with knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum.
  • Expertise in teaching Global Perspective, English, Science, and Mathematics at the lower elementary level.
  • Proficiency in utilizing educational technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Proven track record of effectively implementing the Cambridge curriculum and adapting instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
