**The image has been made of poor quality to encourage you good folk to not just take a screenshot! This resource is aimed to be of assistance to teachers and students at secondary school. The sections are: Key word introduction Key learning concepts & definitions Synonyms Methods of analysing from various subject areas. Key assessment questions. I wish I’d made these key resources before! They are so useful for students from KS3 through to A Level & IBACC where evaluative skills are so much more important.

Beast from the East. Snow day work on Weather & Disruption

The video can be used by students from KS2 to KS5. It is Geography focused but can be used for critical thinking (for the second task option). The video asks the questions of how have we ended up with so much snow and also about who is affected. For the latter question students are asked to give an analysis as to the impacts. This can be an open-ended task for home/snow work or as a class task with more guidance from the teacher. Tasks: Choose ONE or BOTH questions to investigate and present your findings. How has this weather occurred? Use diagrams and chains of reasoning. (Note the plurals!) What are the consequences of the weather for the people of Britain. Again use chains of reasoning in your analysis. The cold weather seems to have affected the microphone. Apologies for the sound quality in places. #BeastFromTheEast
