The entire year 6 spelling curriculum, organised into weekly blocks, covering all spelling patterns and statutory words, ensuring coverage of the curriculum. Doubles up as spelling homework with very little admin/paper/copying. Send one double-sided sheet home three times per year. (Note: Spring includes a 5 week half-term). Includes lots of repetition and revision to fully embed spellings. Suits mixed aged classes in KS2 as the same spelling patterns are taught each week.

Please note: these are based on assessing curriculum objectives. Those of you that teach Year 6 will know that the government (half way through last year) published an assessment framework for writing, which actually contained some other content not contained in the curriculum objectives. I used these grids through the year, then coming up to moderation/SATs season, I used the Writing Framework Checklist (see other resources) to assess a portfolio of work.
