An edited version of a chemistry C1 revision quiz.
Team quiz covering P1. I've permitted open books but the timings mean they will have to be very focused.

Lesson introduces the idea of resources being over used and that there are synthetic products to replace them. As this is a SMART document I have linked a video discussing 'resource over shoot day' as a hook. The lesson then has a research task on page 3.

Natural resources, supplemented by agriculture, provide food, timber, clothing and fuels.

Finite resources from the Earth, oceans and atmosphere are processed to provide energy and materials.

Chemistry plays an important role in improving agricultural and industrial processes to provide new products. It’s also important in sustainable development, which is development that meets the needs of current generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

State examples of natural products that are supplemented or replaced by agricultural and synthetic products.
Distinguish between finite and renewable resources given appropriate information.
Extract and interpret information about resources from charts, graphs and tables.
Use orders of magnitude to evaluate the significance of data.

Define the terms:
• finite
• renewable.
Explain the differences between the two terms using suitable examples.
I have created and have been using for a number of years this digital markbook. Every teacher in my department use this on a lesson by lesson basis for KS4 and topic by topic basis for KS3; we use these in relation to the personal learning checklists (another of my uploads).

This way of tracking progress has been invaluable in guiding the revision of my students, focusing them on the specific areas for their development.

It is a simple process of entering R, A or G based on whatever criterion you decide works best for you

My students lots marks in their recent mock exams because they forgot to change units in to SI units so I’ve made this resource poster.

There is a number prefix to standard form to decimals section as well as a quick exam tip for conversion, eg m to cm and back.

this is intended as a display but would work really well as a ‘place mat’ on tables for students to use.
