This worksheet has been created to support student’s reading and comprehension in Art, particularly with the learning of natural forms. Beginning with a whole class reading section to learn about the artist and introduce students to key words that they may find challenging. Students will then have the opportunity to make meaning of these words and write the definition in their own words.
Students will then use the worksheet to help them complete the questions about the artist at the end.
This is a valuable resource that can be used for a variety of different artists.
This resource has been designed to support student’s ready and comprehension in art.
The resource has been scaffolded and sequenced so that students read as a whole class (ideally with teacher reading aloud and demonstrating correct pronunciation of key words in text) it then offers students the opportunity to write down the definiton of key words (in their own words) before completing a comprehension task at the end. This can be used to support a scheme of work, (potentionally one that students have learnt about colour, shape and/or line) or it can be used as a one of lesson/cover lesson.
