LO Identify and use conjunctions in your writing. Children can use the worksheet to complete tasks (resources included). Children are guided to learning and identifying conjunctions but then being able to write their own sentences using conjunctions. I used this based on our literacy topic of the book Flotsam. Children used photocopied pages from the book to create their own sentences. The work produced was excellent.

Includes spellings for children emerging in Year 3 and the Year 3&4 and 5&6 'expected' spelling words based on the National Curriculum. The document also contains a blank template for you to set spellings associated with topic work in literacy or common errors made by children. The spelling sheets can support a weekly spelling test. I use the template to help individual children who make consistent errors, as well as for topic work, which can support children in their current writing.

This simple booklet can be printed double sided and can be used for any DT activity in KS1. I used it when children made healthy pizzas, puppets and moving pictures based on the theme of 'the sea'. Children are able to learn the necessary stages of the Design process by following the steps in the booklet. Children start by stating what they are making, then can discuss and add to the booklet by stating what the product needs to do. Next, they will list the items needed to make the product and draw a picture, labeling it in order to show their DT skills. Literacy can be incorporated into the task by children writing a report of what they did. Finally, children can test and evaluate their products and write a basic evaluation about the product.
