Identifying angles

(0)

Perfect for identifying angles in geometry and circle theorems.

Use the three letters to identify the lower case letter. From there it will spell out a riddle:

HOW DO YOU MAKE SEVEN EVEN WITHOUT MULTIPLYING, DIVIDING, ADDING OR SUBTRACTING?

Answer: REMOVE THE S.

I realised that my students struggled when identifying angle ABC and LHM in random geometry questions so this should be perfect for all year groups!

I hope that this helps, any suggestions are more than welcome :)

Code breaker - The product rule of counting!

(0)

New to the GCSE and AQA Further Mathematics GCSE - The product rule of counting.

I realised that this is new and my class were understanding the concept but needed a nice consolidation activity. So I quickly put this together and the students responded to it very well.

Answer each question and it will come up with a letter (note, these letters do not appear in order for the question). Students will then unscramble the letters to come up with the question:

WHAT IS ZERO FACTORIAL?

The answer is of course: 1!.

I hope that this is okay, any suggestions are always welcome :)

I wanted to come up with a nice card for my Year 11 and 13’s.

I was inspired by the poster “17 equations that changed the world” poster on Reddit.

On the inside, I have put some “life advice”, some real life advice, some to do with maths (also very important)

Feel free to edit :)

Can you achieve the Decathlon WR - Edexcel Yr2 Mechanics

(0)

Can you achieve the Decathlon WR?

Based on Kevin Mayer achieving 9126 points in September 2018. I have put together 10 questions based on the Edexcel Yr2 Mechanics syllabus.

Using skills such as: suvat equations, Moments, Friction, Projectiles, Application of forces and Further Kinematics.

Answer each question to get the correct time/distance/height that Mayer achieved. Writing them on the answer cards and handing them to the teacher before moving onto the next event. Some questions involve showing proofs, where students should include each stage.

Once complete, students convert to points (using the formulae and tables) add them up together to get the magic 9126.
