Children to cut out the seasonal sun strips. Arrange them in order with summer first, then spring/autumn and lastly winter. Attach to landscape scene with a split pin. children can see investigate and play with the seasonal sun strips to compare the length of time it takes for the sun ‘to travel across the sky’ at different times of the year. They can see why the days are longer/shorter and can understand that placement of the sun in our sky affects the temperature and strength of the sun rays.

It has proven very helpful leading up to phonics checks - great practice and preparation for the kids as well as giving them a chance to practice and apply learning.
