European Day of languages. Love song.

A nice resource. Easily adaptable to other languages. When listening to the song, make sure you have the projector in no show mode so that pupils cannot see answers on board. A good ending to this activity is to have a look at the Indo-European languages family tree and discuss, some of them quickly notice similarity between several of the languages in the song.

This power point is a template for a speaking activity on the topic of holidays. Start the activity asking pupils' what the questions and answers mean. Then they can answer the questions and after they can link the answers with connectives and change endings for the answers. Afterwards they can do a speaking activity in pairs. Encourage them to change and develop answers as much as possible.

Spanish scrabble starter activity

Spanish scrabble starter activity. The power point shows two ways to use the activity. As an starter activity for the whole class and as an activity for pupils to use while they wait for others to arrive and settle. I like to stick it on the walls so that pupils remember that while they wait this is something that they could do and get rewarded for it in the future and so encourage independent learning. Took inspiration for a couple of the questions from Kate Jones. Thank you.

Spanish picture dictionary for independent work

Get pupils to find a picture and to label the objects in it (with or without sticky labels) to increase their independent work on vocabulary while supporting the visual learners and getting them to independently work on it when they have moments when there is not set work yet, i.e. as other pupils settle down, waiting for a cover teacher, when they finish early a task and it is nearly the end of the lesson. Can be adapted to A Level and cultural side of things. Fiestas or traditions for example.
