<p>Attached are schemes of work (SOW) for the AQA A Level Sociology specification. These are for the following units only: Families and Households, Theory and methods, Education, Beliefs in society and, crime and deviance. These will be useful for all but particularly for non specialist teachers, NQT’s and/or teachers moving specifications.</p> <p>Note you can buy the SOW for each unit (£6) individually but they are cheaper as a bundle (£25).</p> <p>My students follow the Browne and/or Trobe textbook.</p>

<p>This can be adapted and I myself have adapted it. My suggested order of teaching is:<br /> 1. Introduction to sociology<br /> 2. Research methods<br /> 3. Education<br /> 4. Family<br /> 5. Crime and deviance<br /> 6. Social stratification</p> <p>I would teach 1 -4 in Y10 and 5 and 6 in Y11, this will leave a remaining term for revision. Please note 1 and 2 need to be taught first as all of the other units have both of these units embedded within them.</p> <p>If you are delivering the course over three years, you might want to teach in the following order:<br /> 1, 2 and 4 in Y9<br /> 3, 5 and 6 in Y10<br /> Revision of all units in Y11</p> <p>JULY 2019 (updated)<br /> I have finished teaching this new course having started in 2017. I have a current y10 class following this SOW and will continue to do so next year with my new cohort.</p>

Topic 9 - Quality assurance .<br /> An exemplar essay/writing frame activity on Audits.

This is an exemplar answer activity.<br /> I have typed an exemplar essay on MIC using an exam question, I went through this with the pupils and we annotated and completed the questions within the exemplar answer.<br /> <br /> A useful activity for A level pupils of all abilities.

<p>This is only applicable for teachers delivering the AQA A Level Sociology course. It is an essay plan on the topic practical, ethical and theoretical factors. AO1, AO2 and AO3 are embedded throughout the essay plan. Good to use with Y12 on their first essays.</p>
