Year 6.<br />
Lessons are set for mixed ability groups but could be easily differentiated.<br />
Activities mentioned have some resources available which I created.<br />
Other resources were taken from online sites and have the web addresses provided. Access to a twinkl account would be beneficial when using these documents.
Differentiated 3 ways. <br /><br />

Looking firstly at fractions with the same denominators.<br /><br />
Then same denominators but improper fraction answers to be changed to mixed numbers.<br /><br />
Converting fractions before adding.
Key Stage 2 - Arithmetic Tests with answers.<br />
Each part of the test (e.g.1a, 1b) represents half of a standard Arithmetic paper.<br />
Good for daily/weekly practice and booster sessions.<br />
Slides can also be printed for homework.
<p>Each PowerPoint looks at 2 or 3 chapters of the story. The whole book is covered.<br />
PowerPoints contain reading comprehension activities, multiple writing opportunities for each week and some cross curricular links e.g. suggestion of tart making for D.T. etc.</p>

South American Sculpture<br />
Looking at creating an Ancient Maya Mask using Paper Mache techniques.<br />
Used another PowerPoint from this website called - Ancient Maya Masks for the first lesson.<br />
Basic planning that can be easily adapted to suit a similar project.
Planning for a topic about human beings being the stewards of the Earth.<br />
Main focus is the links between Christian belief and practice but there is also some mention of Islamic beliefs.

Useful in comparing the Amazon Rainforest to an Urban Rainforest.<br />
Can also be used when comparing Brazilian cities.<br />

<p>Chn are given the information about what has been ordered by a group of people (various group sizes). Then asked questions such as: total bill cost, change from £100, amount each person would have to pay if the bill was shared equally, new answers if the bill was changed, total cost if the restaurant had offered a 10% discount.</p>
