Politics Core Ideologies Revision Map Edexcel A-level

Revision map for Edexcel A-level Politics core ideologies: liberalism, conservatism, and socialism

Please note: this resource is not endorsed or authorised by Edexcel

The Edexcel ‘core ideologies’ 24-mark questions can be intimidating, but this “cheat sheet” can be used to plan virtually any essay question which Edexcel could ask.

The cheat sheet consists of a table divided into the core ideologies of liberalism, conservatism, and socialism, then divided into the five key foci of human nature, the state, society, the economy, and the general level of agreement within the ideology, with each offering space for three areas of agreement and three areas of disagreement.

Students can populate the grid individually or in groups while revising ideologies with concise essay plans which can be regurgitated quickly in an exam.

Why not print out A3 and have students work in groups to each fill out a few “agree/disagree” boxes until they have completed the whole sheet?
