A resource for teaching abortion to GCSE students. Written according to the content of the AQA A syllabus, but relevant for all GCSE courses. This presentation with accompanying teacher notes will provide enough content for 2 to 3 hours of lessons. It covers what abortion is, the law, when does life begin, quality of life, sanctity of life, contrasting Christian views, contrasting Muslim views and GCSE style questions. This presentation is packed with useful information and lots of tasks.

Starter activity is taken from another TES author, however the rest of the presentation is my own work.
Starter is very engaging and thought provoking. Relevant content provided from a Christian and Muslim perspective about each of the 4 key terms.
Students are to draw out a table and take notes, with a creative task to finish - designing a symbol that reflects the 4 key concepts.
Another revision workpack to add to my collection. A mixture of key information giving, fill in the blanks, extended writing activities to revise the Christian Beliefs and Teachings topics. My students value having these.

This powerpoint provides enough content to cover 2 one hour lessons about the use and abuse of the environment. The powerpoint includes thought provoking visual stimuli, group work, individual work, green pen tasks, peer assessment, research work and you tube clips. There are exam style questions to answer and links to Christian and Muslim beliefs and practices.
This pack contains revision materials for the entire Muslim Practices AQA GCSE topic, although it would also be useful for other exam boards.
I created this resource to be more visually engaging, accessible, and with a variety of elements. Some summary information is provided, some sections of information have words missing for students to fill in. The words are not provided. The expectation is that students should know them already, and if not, should be bale to work them out using text books or their exercise books. Some sections require students to provide extended writing.

A one hour lesson for KS4 students about the reasons for war. Powerpoint with footnotes where appropriate and an information/task sheet to accompany the lesson. Starter is a brainstorm on causes of war, information about the 3 key causes of war given in the text book; Greed; Self-Defence and Retaliation, all from a Christian and Muslim perspective. Case study about the War declared on Afghanistan following 9/11 and a 5 minute video montage on the war on terror to stimulate discussion.
A GCSE 1 hour lesson on Lesser Jihad. Power point includes a starter activity based on previous knowledge from Muslim practices unit, objectives, key words and quotes, You tube clip that explains Lesser Jihad - students add more detail to their starter activity. Contains all the relevant inofrmation about criteria and conduct of war as well as a short BBC news clip about the alleged chemical weapons used in Syria in 2013. I chose a less graphic clip as some could be too distressing. There is also an informaion sheet that students can use to produce an illustrated guide to the Lesser Jihad.

A 1 hour fully resourced lesson on The Oneness of God and The Trinity. It incorporates all the information from the AQA text book as well as extracts from the Nicene Creed. Entry task gets students thinking about the concept of ‘3 in 1’. Youtube clip to explain the concept of the Trinity in a more visual way. Main task includes a shamrock leaf with a sweet poem in to help students remember the Trinity. Accompanying information sheet for student books.
