A local study looking into the impact of the Industrial Revolution on the Lancashire city of Preston. Lesson includes two maps to look at (1774 and 1885), a worksheet looking at the changes taking place in terms of population, workers, transport, trade and health, and some slides comparing pictures of Preston in the 18th/19th century and modern day.

This is a lesson on the significance of the Battle of Bamber Bridge near Preston in 1943. Lesson follows the powerpoint and extra notes have been added, including the story of the battle. This lesson could be used as part of a WW2 SOW or Civil Rights.
