This power point is based on the new Oxford IB French B book on the topic of immigration. The focus is to help students see immigrations through the eyes of immigrants. The vocabulary focus is feelings and emotions and the skill is description. I have included a wide range of feelings to push the Higher Level students. My students found the first video very powerful and it helped them to relate and express their feelings. All links for the videos are in the comment boxes.

I have created these resources to help my students go through the book online during the lockdown. Students will study two chapters at a time which will lead to 4-5 chapters per week.

In their worksheets, students will have:

youtube videos where I go through the important sections of each chapter

an opportunity to summarise in English the chapters

une ‘fiche d’analyse des personnages’ using quotes from the chapter on the document ‘Citations’ . They need to match the quotes to the description of characters and interpret them using their own words

the answers for their ‘fiche d’analyse’

I will also ask them to record themselves on their phone and comment in French (speaking) on the their top three quotes (either on characters or themes in the book) each week.

This ppt is to support the study of Text E page 170 in the IB French B Oxford book. It focuses on l’Abbé Pierre and offers an alternative approach to the questions in the text. The main activity is a translation of the text using a vocabulary work sheet provided. The link to the video is in the notes of the first slide.
