This workbooklet has all of the topics that are not reliant on chronological events. It can be completed in lesson or for homework as flipped learning to save on curriculum times. As the topics do not rely on specific events studied in class, they can be completed at any time and in any order. This includes a simple mark scheme for self / peer or teacher assessment.

This is a spreadsheet of hundreds of mining accidents in the UK between 1707-1849. It can be manipulated using the crib sheet included, to help answer any question about the tragedies of this industry. The aim that I have with it is to help students create their own history, asking questions such as ‘what was the most common type of accident?’, ‘which town in the UK had the most fatalities in mining?’ etc. Then use that to create an infographic, such as the ones included as examples.
