How to celebrate Purim?

(1)
Chag Purim Sameach! Happy Purim! On this holiday, we celebrate by dressing up in fancy dress, since King Ahashverosh used to love costume parties. We tell the story by reading the Scroll of Esther (Megillat Esther) and putting on plays called 'purim spiels', making noise when we hear the More…name Haman (the villain) and cheering when we hear the name Mordechai (the hero). We enjoy a drink, snack on three-cornered pastries with sweet fillings called 'oznei haman' or 'hamentashen' and we give each other gifts called 'mishloach manot.'
