For the last two lessons of the year my year 7 and 8 will watch madagascar in french. Either with subtitles or without. I made this cute worksheet for them to do some work and learn some cool informal language they would not see in lesson. match-up animals true or false statements colour in the main characters main question posed in french and english on the movie (circle answers…) Vocabulary list with french to english. This is a booklet i made for lower-mid ability year 7 to revise for their speaking test. It is 30 pages long. 16 pages on how to describe a photo, with key vocabulary practice with english words to help them pair up to the french. physical description mood who is in the photo what they wear colours three pages to revise animals and birthday. two pages to revise who they get along well with in their family and why three pages to revise sport and why three pages to revise what they do on their phone or computer and why. three pages on weather and what they do. a page to revise the future tense a page to explain how to ask questions. This is the first lesson I use for those entering year 10 in September. I hope it comes in handy. I have had many students ask why do French, especially as it is compulsory in our school. The lesson slides sequence is: a video to show why they should take languages. Embedded into the powerpoint already - just press play. objectives and a reflection question language classroom expectations true or false facts on languages why study a language quotes match the names of famous people to the degree they did slides with information on the listening, speaking, writing and reading assessments in GCSE. slide on the themes they will see in year 10 and year 11 because our lessons are two hours long the second part is recapping or starting holidays and getting their books.
