A lesson designed to last an hour in duration with KS4 students (higher and/ or mixed ability - fully differentiated).
At this point, students have looked at Remains once and have an idea what the poem is about at a basic level.
Lesson activity includes: entry task using glossary to highlight and label key terms (glossary included); a challenge objective and key words; teaching of PTSD through clips and questioning (soldier outline included); notes and a clip from Guardsman Tromans; students then construct a ‘perfect’ response/ analytical paragraph using models; plenary = peer assessment with set criteria.
