A short, ready-made unit focusing on getting some creative writing from the children. This is based around the scene from the boat from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone (video linked is from YouTube).
The main SPAG elements from these sessions are:
- expanded noun phrases
- fronted adverbials
- prepositions & prepositional phrases
It is using SMART notebook and can be used for any KS2 class.
Some parts have multiple tasks, which can be chosen by the teacher. For example, children complete a task in their books or moving around the room adding fronted adverbials to sugar paper ready to share as a class.
