These 16 (5-piece) jigsaw puzzles are ideal to practice and revise this concept during lessons, in Math centers and home-schooling. THIS PRODUCT IS ALIGNED WITH COMMON CORE!!! (First Grade Common Core Standard: 1.NBT.C.5: Given a two-digit number, mentally find 10 more or 10 less than the number, without having to count)
INCLUDED YOU WILL ALSO FIND 3 RECORDING SHEETS: 2 SHEETS CONTAINING ALL THE NUMBERS IN THE PUZZLES (8 SETS IN EACH PAGE) AND ONE BLANK SHEET TO USE IN CASE YOU DECIDE TO MAKE UP YOUR OWN SET FROM THE GIVEN PUZZLES.
The jigsaw puzzle is easy to prepare: Simply print, stick onto cardstock paper and cut out. (You could also laminate the pieces).
Shuffle the jigsaw pieces and then give them to your students to assemble. Students mentally work out 1 less, 1 more, 10 less and 10 more and match the pieces together. They will surely have a blast! :) NUMBERS WITHIN 100.
Please note: Students can work individually or in groups. I recommend that you partition the puzzles in 2 so that students would not get confused. You can obviously add more puzzles for students with higher abilities.
