18. German: separable and reflexive verbs

This is a Powerpoint presentation of 10 slides and is no.18 in a series of 60-minute lessons used by me to tutor a GCSE student via Zoom. The focus of each lesson is grammatical, rather than topic specific, and as such they can be slotted into topic work as required. In addition, each lesson attempts to extend the use of German to match the requirements of GCSE Higher Tier.

This presentation covers how separable and reflexive verbs are used and links both with verbs that are both separable and reflexive e.g. sich anziehen. It also includes more challenging verbs such as ‘sich die Haende waschen’ and ‘sich etwas ansehen’. There are full explanations and lists of many important such verbs, slides for playing Tic Tac Toe, gapfills and translations.
