A KS3 unit of work introducing students to the fantasy genre.
Exploring contextual factors - the purpose of the genre and its influence on society.
Designed as a 7 week unit students will be exposed to 7 extracts: Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, The Nightingale and the Rose, Water Babies, Wizard of Oz and Jungle Book.
Lessons are designed to last one hour and include starter activities, plenaries, and stretch and challenge activities. Where applicable worksheets are also attached in editable format. Lessons designed to link to non fiction writing lessons some of which are included.
A booklet of all extracts attached in word document format. Extra extracts are included for extension work.
