LESSON 11-14 IN THE SERIES: This QUAD lesson continues on from the previous representation lesson in the series of lessons on the Bond franchise. This lesson covers:

-Masculinity/ Toxic Masculinity
-Feminism/ Post feminism
-Beauty Ideals
-Body Type
-Infographic on how Bond girls have changed over time with regards to body ideals/ ethnicity etc.
-Sexual objectification
-Heterosexuality in Bond
-An in-depth look at Ian Fleming and his controversial depictions of women, sexuality, disability and ethnicity as well as examples within the Bond franchise/ Case study on the Daniel Craig films and their representation of disability

-A View to a Skill : Students watch a selected clip from each of the six Bonds and note down what they notice, how the character has changed/ possibly progressed over time.

You will now watch a series of clips, one from each actor to play Bond.

I would like you to lay out a brainstorm like the one on this slide.

Note down the following under each Bond:
-Whether you think the scene is progressive or regressive.
-How Bond is being represented.
-How is masculinity and femininity represented?

-A millennial viewing of the Bond franchise case study/ the online anger and debate over Lashana Lynch becoming the new 007 in ‘No Time to Die’.
-Bond crying in the franchise/ subversion of toxic masculinity.
