This unit is made up of three mini interactive activities focusing on the properties of 3D shapes.
The first activity is based on Euler’s theory. The pupils need to find a rule that links the faces, edges and vertices together. The interactive activity allows them to manipulate the shapes on screen to count the faces, edges and vertices.
The second activity has them using their knowledge of the properties of 3D shapes to form a polyhedral chain.
The third activity allows the pupils to investigate which edges will meet when a net folds to form a 3D shape.

Absolutely brilliant graphics and examples shown. I personally enjoyed the "changing the color" idea of identifying the correct shape. Superb for lesson planning, excellent tasks and many more to challenge and explain the students. Full marks.

excellent resource. This has been very well thought out and provides everything you need: lesson planning; teachers notes; worksheets and an interactive presentation. The investigative tasks are great for encouraging group work, and discussion while ensuring that the pupils think through the tasks for themselves. Also a good introduction to algebra for some of the more able pupils.
<br />Well worth a look.
