A fully planned and resourced pair of lessons taking students through the first Stave of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’.

Each lesson includes an accompanying resource.
You will need copies of the text or an audio book.

The first lesson introduces key concepts, designates reading and guides students through an annotation of Scrooge’s character, rounding off with comprehension questions (answers provided).

The second lesson introduces the key contextual concept of Gothic literature. Students will then pick up reading from halfway through the first stave. Students are guided through an extract and asked to consolidate their knowledge with annotation, before finishing with comprehension questions.

Each lesson should take an hour and can be consolidated with your own subject knowledge or set as cover lessons for a non-subject expert. These would be excellent for a PGCE student or ECT teacher as all answers are provided and they guide student and teacher alike through this classic text.
