A fully planned and resourced pair of lessons taking students through the first Stave of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’.

Each lesson includes an accompanying resource.
You will need copies of the text or an audio book.

The first lesson explores the impact of Scrooge’s past on his present, with a close analysis task based around the description of the Ghost of Christmas Past. This is followed by an extended writing task. Models and annotation guides are provided.

The second lesson looks closely at values and there is a short summary task to consolidate student knowledge of the events of stave two.

Each lesson should take an hour and can be consolidated with your own subject knowledge or set as cover lessons for a non-subject expert. These would be excellent for a PGCE student or ECT teacher as all answers are provided and they guide student and teacher alike through this classic text.
