A quick guide to Headship: what you will wish you had known

This is the most important article that  you can read before you go into Headship, during and even after. These are the tips that we should be discussing with each other in our meetings and catch ups. Life after Headship is not spoken about; it should be. Being a Headteacher was an absolute privilege and an opportunity that if it arises I would recommend to anyone. Reflecting on my time as a Headteacher, these are some of the things that I wish I had known before, during and after. However your Headship ends, these tips will be useful to help you prepare well in advance so that your transition onto your next opportunity can be as smooth as possible. They do focus on what you can do to prepare if you have to leave your Headship quickly; but the tips are equally useful if you are in control of when you leave.
