I bought this pack for the Q4 resources a while ago and have found very useful for my gcse classes. They're presented in a fully editable powerpoint so I can move things around and take bits out when I need to. Sometimes with this author's resources I find there is too much material for an hour, but I'd rather have too much than too little, so it's not an issue for me. There is a lot of detail in this lesson so I can take bits from them and have used them in different lessonss when it suits.
A somewhat confusing resource with no lesson plan to follow. Whilst the creator never stated it would come with one, it absolutely should as some of the activities make little sense. It has potential, but it needs to be clearer on what is supposed to be happening when and where in the lesson. It also doesn't translate to actual exam prep. Whilst the activities help with THIS extract, there are no transferable exam skills to support students with Q4s generally and, would therefore, just provide false results in a classroom setting. The activities are designed to support students with THIS question, not transferable exam skills. Real world time, students would spend 20-25 minutes on the activity and the minute anyone begins introducing 'drawing a map' rather than exam skills is bound to cause confusion. If I could offer 0 stars, I would for many reasons, but especially because you could save the cost of this resource by simply Googling a literary source, chopping it to the relevant size and using the question stem to design your own task.
