We look at an exam task about animal captivity in zoos and use this stimulus to aid students in their learning regarding how to vary sentence openers and use different sentence types (simple, complex, compound).
We explore an example article and how the writer employs sentence types for effect.
This lesson will then lead on to an exploration of using sentences for impact and effect.
