AQA GCSE Biology: Enzymes

This is an annotated and narrated powerpoint presentation for GCSE Biology and Trilogy to help next year’s Year 11 students catch up after Covid19. It covers enzymes, what they are, how they specifically bind to a substrate molecule, and either make or break bonds, the effects of pH, temperature and gene mutation, plus their wider roles in cell metabolism GM and decomposition. This lesson follows on from the digestive system. It has 10 multiple choice questions and a gap fill exercise exercise to emphasise the key concepts and vocabulary and a RAG sheet to assess knowledge and understanding. It can be used without the narration in class and with it for revision purposes and is fully editable.
