An extract from Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby' (20th Century) to be used as the source for Paper 1: Explorations in creative reading and writing, Section A (Questions 1, 2, 3 and 4) of the NEW GCSE in English Language specification with AQA. Included is the extract, formatted to replicate the insert found in the new GCSE examination, alongside detailed PowerPoint lessons including model paragraphs/responses for each response and for each level of the mark scheme, examination information, and skills descriptors, as well as opportunities for peer and self-assessment. Targeted at students aiming for grades 5-9, but can be easily adapted for lower-ability students.
