AQA Love through the ages poetry Context

Lesson resources focused on developing pupil’s understanding of both the contextual developments and literary characteristics of the literary eras relevant to the AQA Love Trough the Ages Poetry Anthology.

The resources include:

• Organising poems into literary eras
• Contextual exploration of key events within each era that may have contributed to the themes/ ideas prominent in the anthology’s poems of that era.
• Exploration of writing characteristics/ typicalities of each literary era.

The purpose of this lesson is to develop pupil ability to meet AO3 of the AQA A-Level English Literature examination.
