This is a lesson which covers the 1948 War during the Arab-Israeli conflict and considers important ideas like why the Arabs considered this to be the “Nakba” and whether this really was “Ethnic Cleansing”. The lesson was designed to be part of the AQA A-Level NEA but could be used for GCSE level and above provided students are motivated and have a good understanding of how to approach a complex historical debate. The lesson does not link to any textbook and all resources are included.
