This resource contains a fully editable PowerPoint presentation on 100 amazing biology facts. It is an ideal resource for biology week which takes place in October each year.

Sample facts:

- The human mouth produces 1 litre (1.8 pints) of saliva each day. In a lifetime, the average person produces about 28413 litres of saliva; enough to fill two swimming pools!
- Our eyes are always the same size from birth.
- If all the DNA in a human body is stretched out, it would reach to the moon 6,000 times.
- The power generated by our brain when we are awake is enough to light up a bulb.
- The mucus from a human sneeze can travel up to 100 miles per hour.
- The acid released in our stomach during digestion, hydrochloric acid, is strong enough to dissolve a razor blade.
- The smell of cut grass is a plant distress call. When cut, grass releases green leaf volatiles to stimulate the growth of new cells to close the wound and to prevent bacterial infection.
- Alligators have between 74 and 80 teeth in their jaw. As teeth wear down or fall out they are replaced. An alligator can go through 2000 to 3000 teeth in a lifetime.

The PowerPoint also contains hyperlinks to a video of the climbing of the world's tallest tree; an octopus squeezing through a very small hole; dolphins sleeping; the call of the blue whale and the lyrebird mimicking other birds and a chainsaw.
