This assembly PowerPoint was used to show the hidden black figures in UK History. It begins with listening to music composed by Ignatious Sancho, and learning that he was a Georgian musician, activist and bought himself out of slavery.
We then learn about Mary Phylis who was a tudor, Septimus Severus who was a Roman, and Sophia Duleep Singh who was a Victorian Indian Sufragette.
We then finished off the assembly by learning the words to the song, ‘Lean on me’.
The timeline showing all the different eras were also a great talking point to remind the pupils of all the topics they have already learned about.
