Branch 1: Creation and Covenant Year 4 Week 3

Two lessons linked to learning outcomes of Branch 1 (Creation and Covenant) Year 4.
The ppt walks you through the scripture and activities.
The focus this week is the story of the Visitors and Abraham and the Sacrifice of Isaac.
The activity includes an expressive arts activity linked to Andrei Lubev’s Trinity icon. Learners will be asked to colour in a template and annotate the symbolism. This icon is linked to Genesis 18.
The second activity is to create an axis of emotion (emotions graph) to track emotions throughout all the stories we have covered from The Call of Abraham to the Sacrifice of Isaac.
Children will need lots of modellling on plotting the points on the model and drawing the lines in order.
Differentiated templates are available and challenge questions are displayed on teaching slides.
The ppt also includes links to relevant animated scripture stories and slides to support learners leading Class liturgy.
An extra resource is also included to support learners create a ‘Going forth’ linked to scripture for the class prayer table - A star template to make their own promise to God.
