The perfect guide to completing Component 1 of the BTEC Tech Award in Creative Media Productions. This scheme of work is designed to help support students when completing the 'Exploring Media Products’ authorised brief from the exam board.
Each lesson is planned for 75 minute lessons (25 teaching hours approx.). However, can easily be adapted or extended further. The lessons support students with all of the tasks needed to complete the component. There are a variety of teacher led activities, active learning tasks with all differentiated to stretch and challenge the higher ability students and support the lower candidates. I use the lessons as half teacher led and second half Workshops and active learning.
Scheme of work includes:
- Introductin to Component 1
- Introduction to Audience
- 2 other audience lessons .
- Uses and Gratification
- Purpose of products
- Media Products, Audience and Purpose
- John Lewis advert
- How times have changed
- Sabrina the Teenage Witch
- Component 1: Learning aim A
- Teacher example of theme
- Introduction to learning aim B

The PowerPoints are aesthetically pleasing and students have commented on this throughout my teaching of the component.
